About Marin
Strategist. Storyteller. Adventurer.
I create human-centered stories that connect people to place, programs, and each other. Whether I'm planning a campaign, interviewing someone about their journey, or chasing alpenglow with my camera, I'm always looking for the moments that make an experience matter.
My story
I've built my career at the intersection of recreation, community, culture, and storytelling.
It started with a love for the experiences and places that shaped me — weekend ski runs, family road trips, local races, community events — the feeling of discovering somewhere you want to return to, and then documenting it.
I grew up in the San Francisco Bay Area and moved north to Eugene for the University of Oregon, where I earned both my bachelor's and master's degrees — and fell for the Pacific Northwest enough to make it home.
That curiosity grew into a career telling stories about people, places, and experiences that matter. I create content that helps people discover something new, see themselves taking part, and feel more connected to the communities around them.
Today, I blend content strategy, storytelling, and multimedia production to help organizations find the human story behind their work — and turn it into campaigns that inspire people to explore, participate, and belong.
“Stories help us experience the world — and invite others into it.”
In the field
Sidelines, summits, and open water — I like being where the story happens.
What guides me
People first
The best stories start with real people. I listen for what matters to them, look for the moments that feel true, and build from there.
Every place has a story
Where something happens matters. I pay attention to the landscapes, details, culture, and character that give an experience its sense of place.
Strategy informs creativity
I want the work to do something — inspire participation, shift perception, build connection, or help someone discover what's possible. The goal shapes the story.
Lead with emotion
I chase the feeling behind the moment — first-race nerves, the buzz of a gathering — so the audience feels like they were there, or wishes they had been.
How I work
Curious
I ask questions, listen closely, and follow the small details that make a story more interesting, human, or unexpected than it first seemed.
Collaborative
I do my best work with people, not just around them — building trust with those closest to the story and aligning different perspectives on one shared goal.
Communicative
Clear communication keeps good ideas moving. I ask the right questions, keep everyone in the loop, and translate fluently between creative and strategic needs.
Intentional
I like a good plan. Clear goals, thoughtful systems, and organization give me the room to be creative, adapt when things change, and stay focused on what matters.
